Diablo I had a male wizzard, that didn't stop people from buying that game lol
Ok, so after seeing the new wizard content and gameplay videos I can clearly see that Blizzard chose to show a female wizard to appeal to diablo fans and their love of the sorceress...but to me playing a male wizard would feel really weird in the world of diablo.
I know right now when I create a wizard it will be a female just because I am comfortable with her and she gets to keep her sexy look from D2. In most other games playing a male magic-user is normal for me but imagining a male wizard makes the class lose its 'edgy feeling'

The game will have the choice from male or female and it is an awesome feature because then people are not called gay for picking an assasin haha
female wizard.
because the thought of a girl kicking your online ass is pretty funny lol
Wizards are males only. Witches are female only. i don't think there will be a Female "Wizard" it will be a witch instead.
The thing is Wizard can be used uni-sexually along with other names for magick beings but thanks to movies and games many of the terms are used for gender bias...like witch and wizard.
In the Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust the main character (Vlad, a male) practices sorcery and witchcraft...the former having to do with pure magical power and the latter having a more nature and spiritual approach to performing spells. What I'm getting at is that Vlad is considered a Witch regardless of his sex.
When we think of wizard we think of Gandalf and with Witch we think of a cackling old lady boiling toads...or male vs female.

I for one will be choosing my characters gender based on what they were in D2, for nostalgic reasons. Which means that I will be playing a female wizard.. which I will also call a Sorceress (even for male wizards) for months after D3 is released. In fact I probably will never stop calling the Wizard a Sorceress.
I'ma make a female wizzard with butch hair, so i get the best of both worlds. haha

There won't be any hair and skin customizations. Or at least this is what I have read.
i think its better to have the choice of gender, and i also think you should be able to choose skin colour and hair colour and style ? =]
