Thread: Not a Necromancer replacement, apparently.

From the words of the Diablo III team, 'The Witch Doctor is nothing like the Necromancer, and wouldn't stop a Necromancer being brought into the game in one of the future expansions'.

I doubt that would ever happen. Of course it's a Necromancer replacement, it's a spellcaster of the dark-arts - that's all the Necromancer was, with a bit of mystery.

I loved the Necromancer, but I don't think it being replaced with the Witch Doctor is a bad thing - it's time to move on from Diablo II - Diablo III is the next-gen game, with the Witch Doctor being the next-gen class!

I agree an obvious replacement for the Necromancer. 8Mike yes she/he can summon pets or "creatures". I think that the witch doctor is a Necromancer with a a twist adding in abilities for disease and what not. I do hope however that they release a more specialized Necromancer in future expansions.
