Great game if i was concidering buying it i would if i was you. the game play, well everything is just PERFECT.
yes but this is the full game where you get to actually use your monsters and stuff
Everything I've seen has been terrible about this game.
Spore even made Digg.com #1 on their Hot List as "Spore...what a ripoff".
Check out Amazon.com review for it. It has < 1 star average.

LOL!
I had to do an amazon check myself Welt to make sure you weren't bending the truth. Indeed the game sucks ass.
You can't go on reviews alone. There were many people who were just mad that it didn't really meet the hype. With people waiting what... 3 year or more from when they first announced it was in development. While it definitely didn't meet expectations, its has certainly raised the bar for what I video game can offer.
I was surprised with the scope of the game, you could literally play the game most of the day for a year and still not explore every planet in the game. There is much room for improvement, if a mod for the game were to come out I'm sure they could fix the shortcomings of the game.
While people on amazon have collectively decided to trash the game (I don't think most of them were giving an honest response), there wasn't any major game review websites/magazines (that I know of) that gave it less then a 8/10.
All in all its worth a shot, the reason it had a bad reception is because there was too much hype which no reasonable person can ever expect a game to meet

Spore (pc: 2008): Reviews
4.5 User Rating on Meta is pretty legit. Fellow classmates got bored of the game after one week. I've only heard negative things about it. It just can't all be lies.

There's no doubt that there are people that don't like the game, but there have been a group of people black balling the game because they feel they weren't given what was promised.
I played the game for less then a weekend. It was a good game, I just don't have the time to play a sandbox type game that it is. I will probably go back when I'm itching for a good space game, and with any hope there will be some mods to make it more of a space game than an evolution game.
Anyway all I am getting at is I wouldn't base my opinion of the game on amazon reviews. It by no means the best game you will ever play, I probably wouldn't even put it at the bottom of the list of the top games of the past decade, but its still a good game that's worth playing, even if you just borrow it from a friend for a weekend.
Amazon has such bad reviews for spore because people were ticked off at the DRM protection and only installing 3 times.
The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.
I got bored of the game pretty quickly, but Spore was really fun for a few days. I realize this is a pretty old post, but this game had a really interesting look into evolution. I would definitely recommend this game now that its a few years old and likely only costs 20 or so dollars.
