DIABLO 3 BETA AND RELEASE DATE!!! (Rumor)
Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming dungeon destroyer Diablo III is said to be coming on December 24 according to a rumour on the website kaputik.com where Associates working on a Diablo 3 game design have supplied the following information.
The online beta multiplayer trial version is currently set for an 11th September release.
The final version is to be released before Christmas - 24th December 2009.
The designers also dropped some specs for the game:
PC:
Operating System: Windows XP/ Vista
Processor: 1.4GHz or higher CPU.
RAM: 1Gb or more.
Video: 128Mb video card Dx9
Hard Drive Space: 4-8GB
Mac:
Operating System: MacOS X 10.3 (Panther) or better.
Processor:1.6GHz or higher.
RAM: 1Gb or higher, DDR RAM recommended.
Video: 128mb ATI or NVIDIA video card
Hard Drive Space: 4-8 GB
Diablo III is the third installment of Blizzard’s Diablo franchise and was unveiled on June 28, at the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France. Development on Diablo III began some time in 2005 when Blizzard North was still in operation.
Of course all of this is just a rumour at this stage so we will wait to see if it turns out to be true, but the idea that the game may be out this year will keep a lot of fans happy...
Well, assuming the rumor is true, that is a whole lot sooner then I expected. I didn't think it would be out any sooner then fall 2010.
If it does turn out to be true (I doubt at this point, but..) it looks like I would have to make more time to work on d3g development, make some money to upgrade my computer and pay for copies of D3, oh.. and find a good excuse to tell my family why I am skipping Xmas so I can play D3 for the first 48 hours without interruption

Those are really low specs for a big 2009-2010 game...I was expecting at least a 2.8ghz p4 or 2.0ghz dual core. I hope they're true then I can play it on this comp without making D3 an excuse to build a new computer!
It seems odd they would be releasing a beta on 9/11 but then again the date didn't have any significance before 8 years ago.
Then again, why would Blizzard talk to some small website that nobody knows about?

i agree its good to see people still posting new things even if they really have no relative information i gotta say i had a huge smile just seeing some news its good to know we arent dead either!

Kaputik.com reported earlier this week that a Blizzard insider had clued them in to release dates for both the online multiplayer beta on September 11 this year and the final retail release supposedly set for December 24, but Blizzard would not confirm these dates.
In response to TGR, Ryan Arbogast, Associate PR Manager at Blizzard, told us “As for Diablo III: Blizzard has not announced a release date for Diablo III at this time.”
So it looks like Diablo fans are going to have to wait a little longer for a confirmed release date, as Blizzard looks like they’re either not willing to admit that Kaputik got their information correct, or they’re not willing to justify the rumors with a response.
Diablo III was officially announced June 28 at the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France, though development began sometime in 2005 under the once “Blizzard North” studio.
Kaputik.com also reported some alleged system requirements for the game, but they are not yet confirmed, and so far there has been no comment from Blizzard on those.

Actually, the beta has just started a few days ago. I was one of the lucky one to get my hand on a beta key. The game really looks nice so far. My favorite character is the barbarian and the diablo 3 barbarian skills are amazing. The Fury generator skills are making the killing sooo fun.Originally Posted by Redeemer
Unfortunatelly, the beta is quite short but I am currently levelling the character one by one to reach the top levels spells.
