Yeah... this can be put to rest... The guy who made the original post at d2jsp said (a day later.. September 17, 2008) he made it all up...

its pretty creative, I believed it when I first read it. I thought it was more complex than that with hex coding and such, but there's many different side of the story going around. This one is easier to understand, props.

09/09/09 is still the date. Until it passes and the release is still unknown.

He has a lot of time on his hand but I hope it's treu. I can't wait untill D3 comes out.

This is just speculation. The numbers are just coincidental, there's based around Diablo, the Lord of Terror, and I, for one, have never had that ring nor have I had that error message.

Although, I really do hope it does get released September this year. That'd be great, haha.

Ok guys dont think im crazy but im finding this very interesting. I recently found a clue whilst walking myself through act 1 in normal mode:

I had just killed andariel and i have gone around to talk to everyone about the "sisters to the slaughter" subject to see what they had to say. It was when i hit gheed that made my jaw DROP. guess what he said? "Im going to party like its 999!"

truly astonishing... here is the screenshot i took. (does the picture work? idk)

999 meaning the theoretical release date of diablo 3... all i can say for now is, when gheed throws that party on 999... im goin to it!

Uploading your picture to a filehoster first works a whole lot better than posting a link to your computer.
