Diablo III is Getting a New Art Director
Is the highly anticipated RPG getting a new look? Blizzard fills us in.

August 7, 2008 - Blizzard is looking for a new Art Director for Diablo III. The job posting was recently made and has already generated a lot of buzz as to whether or not the art direction for the anticipated RPG would change. Some Diablo fans have criticized the art direction as looking too bright and colorful, even going so far as to create an online petition for Blizzard to change the direction.
A Blizzard representative has confirmed to IGN in an email that Diablo III's previous art director, Brian Morrisroe, has left the company. The official response reads, "[Morrisroe] recently resigned to form a startup technology company (outside the game industry), which is why we've posted about the open position." As to whether or not the look of the game will change, the response continues, "This change won't impact the game…we're really pleased with the look and feel that Brian helped create for Diablo III, and the new person we bring onboard will work with the other artists on the team to maintain the art style moving forward."

i really don't feel that the game "looks like WoW" everyone bases that statement because WoW was so succesful. i mean i do see some similarities... but i just don't see it being LIKE WoW. WoW had choppy corners, not shaded well imo. D3 seems to have all the colors BLEND not as if it was cell shaded.Originally Posted by admin

i agree. This game is going to be phenomenal. there is no doubt in my mind about this. go Blizz im stoked.
the game does look amazing but i think they need to use a better color sceme the brown grey creatures will be a pain after a few days of playing.

Never had any problems with the colour scheme.
