Thread: diablo 3 gold prices

They're definitely going to try and stabilize the economy instead of letting the game become a trading game. I read something about the gold standard deal and I'm hoping it's much rarer so the common currency is actual currency...not sojs.

World of warcraft has a good system going however I don't want it to be a complete rip.

Yea WoW has a good idea with the gold. I personally liked the FFXI (Final Fantasy Eleven) Auction house more than the WoW AH. We'll see in time.

ya ffxi 11 AH was cool.

They should implement a system like Guild Wars, where you have gold, and every X amount of gold moves to another grouping of currency (platinum), but for old times sake make 1,000 (or whatever #) of gold into a grouping called "SoJ". That way you can still trade X item for Y SoJ.

Then again, perhaps I'm just stuck in the past.

I bet there will be an item called the SoJ in D3...just a nod to D2 and it will be worth a heckuvalot more

I personally want a trade system, not an auction system. Item for item, thats what makes diablo fun and interactive. The feeling of gettin something from a good trade is a great feeling : )

I enjoyed the trade system. The only reason it didn't work well and inflated so bad, though, was duping.

If there is no duping the trade system works great. People will actually trade for what they need and focus less on this item is worth more than that item.

I feel that the gold will be used for "crafting" and there will be a RARE chance to make a crafted item that is truly randomly godly. This would make gold an important trading tool but still let those players that don't have the time to make a million gold trade item for item, even trades. Depending on the rarity of gold, which blizzard could easily control with a patch, inflation would be controlled. You have a system to terminate existing currency and a way to limit the amount of currency being made. !!!!!!BUT!!!!!!! this still allows those not rich to trade for what they need.

all one can hope that the millions of gold one earns dueling will not be pissed away gambling and for nothing at all, id like to hope no id like to see that gold has some form of value, and i dont mean everything costs a billion gold to repair because we all know at times that can be a pain in the balls. Gold in d3 one would hope that there are decent vendors who no dont sell uniques because then they obviously wouldnt be very unique.... but from time to time a far off merchant in a4 or 5 or 99 will have a decent rare item that no mebbe isnt godly but decent enough to use when the game first gets going or useful to lvl low characters... or some such potential..
