    Default Diablo 3 Item Stores

Let's hope to God that we don't get ass clowns ruining the game by selling Diablo 3 items and spamming all over the place for their stores. Your supposed to play the game and find good items, not buy them like a softie
Additionally, since your playing ONLINE you can TRADE to get the items you want, instead of pussing out and buying gear lol.

Technically, I think it would be inevitable to avoid this, unless Blizzard steps up and does something about it (Which I doubt). Do you guys know how much money is generated from these d2 shops? I can't find any sources but I would guess all of them combined these guys reel in at least $250,000 a year. And thats a modest estimate. Its crap. What you guys think?

Sigh, can't wait for pansies to start botting too. Might not happen right away but virgin geeks will find a way to bot the game, guaranteed.

*massive hate on these sellers and buyers*

ehh... 250k seems kinda high, i just thought the online stores would be run on the side as extra income, instead of a main source. just opinion though i have no facts. i dont care if people get rich off selling items for cash, what DOES piss me off is the spamming...

Yeah I don't really care if people buy/sell items, most of the time I usually have just as good of items anyway. Plus people that go all out buying items probably are relying more on said items instead of their own ability to play a game.

As has already been said I don't want to see the spamming in-game. We at least have only had to deal with this in D2 for only a couple years, but if spamming starts right after D3's release and they don't do anything about it I can't see myself playing it for 10 years like I have D2.

Also I don't know how much D2 itself makes, but these online stores that sell items for games is a multi-million dollar a year industry. I would imagine that each time they reset the D2 ladder that the D2 stores makes many thousands of dollars a day. This however would eventually subside as demand goes down (and subsequently their prices). However I think $250,000 is a very conservative estimate, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the larger stores net over $250k a year each just on D2.

I hold the same opinion as previously stated... Hey, if you have the $ and don't want to spend hours finding your items - go ahead and buy stuff online and save yourself some time if that is what is worth [more] of your $. I know if I had the cash to buy items I probably would just so I can try out XX build or something but really, I play to have fun and not to compete.

I rarely play d2 anymore and mainly log on to refresh chars (I still can't let go of them ;P) and it is annoying as hell to log onto one of my favorite games and immediately get 1+ spam messages about a store...whether it be in the channel or whispered.

Unless Blizzard's new hackproof bnet proves to be just that...it's only a matter of time before people find ways to circumvent security. My hope is since Blizz will be making $ off of microtransactions they will put in more effort to stop hacks...etc
    The below statement is true.

I'm sure that Battle.net 2.0 will be light years ahead of the old, just based on how much both hardware and software technology has advanced in the past 10+ years. (Not to mention the experienced gained in that period of time as well)

Hell if you just looks Guild Wars, which was primarily developed by some of the key programmers in D2 and Battle.net were able to make a pretty damn secure and reliable backend to it.
