Diablo III - Year One

With all the various sizes of the D3Y1 wallpaper I had made; I thought “You know what I know there has to be someone out there that would like it on the iPhone”, and here it is!

Also if your looking for iPhone wallpapers and or want to make some and have a home for them, check out the iPhone Wallpaper gallery on diii.net. Make sure when you make iPhone wallpapers that the size is 320x480 and no bigger or smaller, otherwise they wouldn’t fit too well on the iPhone.

With that I’ll see you next week when the Fiery Runes Series returns.

On Jun 30th a few minutes past midnight I created my first attempt at a Diablo 3 wallpaper. A few claimed it looked like it was done in MSPaint.

Back then I thought it was the best wall I had made in a while. But I was also worried how people would take the image. Sadly for me it was practically laughed at. Everyone had to start somewhere. For a while I wanted to remake it as a better wallpaper. What you see now is that wallpaper; a simpler and more streamlined version with the Diablo 3 Wallpaper Series Style.

I thought it was more fitting to recognize a wallpaper that I started from since I am a history freak. What a better way to make a connection with the one year anniversary than to remake my first wall. God knows it needed it in my eyes.

Love it or hate it; it is my way of connecting my wallpaper legacy from where I began to where I am now. It has been a crazy year. I can’t believe how fast that year went by. Here’s to another year and many more of wallpaper art!

One year in wallpaper art. You know it’s crazy how fast a year goes by, not to mention how many wallpapers were made too. I remember on this day last year when I spent two weeks building the fiery glowing runes that would start a standard for what we know now. I remember feeling like I’m going to be posting something that no one else has done before and the first wallpaper was the Diablo 3 logo encircled by the first runecircle I made.

With a little inspiration from VioletJoker’s 1 year anniversary collage, I made my own collage of all the wallpapers in this series I’ve made, even the special wallpapers I didn’t put in the official wallpaper gallery. After that I pasted the runecircle on top of that collage and added Year One below on both left and right sides of the nameplate. I thought this was a good way to show a collective one year of the fiery runes. I hope you like and enjoy!

This week I have found 3 lost iPhone wallpapers which go back as far as the first two iPhone wallpapers I had posted. I believe them to have been the original first 3 I planned to use when I started the series. I thought it would be neat to pull these old art pieces up and put them in the gallery. History is a big thing for me and I proved that with the Diablo III: A Year in Wallpapers news post on diii.net.

I also had Xiansai ready too for you all, but because I needed to get that news item made and the multiple anniversaries that came up. That pushed it back a few weeks. With the news item done I can now post these. I hope you like, and I will be back next week with another iPhone wall on Wednesday. See you Monday also for my next main wallpaper starting for Year Two of Diablo 3!

The first new FRS wallpaper since the anniversary; Locations X – Tristram Cathedral is a cool tweak of the Xiansai wallpaper. I thought making it have the blue theme would be a nice change from all the red again. The blue runes really glow, and I was worried they would draw attention more than the picture of the Tristram Cathedral in the circle.

I originally had this finished up before the anniversaries, but wanted to hold off until the anniversaries were done. I was also working on the news piece - Diablo III: A Year in Wallpapers, for at least two weeks. I hope you guys like the blue change this week, I’ll see you all next week for another installment.

Looks like my net might be getting shut off here soon guys i dont know how long ill be down, just hope someone will post wallpapers in my absence, diii.net sometimes has new wallpapers once a week besides my posts.

I really like the look of the blue runes but the blue concentric circles/shapes look too dark/dull especially on the grey map behind it - the runes/cathedral rock though
