    09 - Caldeum

    Good afternoon all; this Wednesday I fixed up the first and the standard for the future locations wallpapers in the iPhone series. This week though I decided to slow down and not get to far ahead of myself like I did with the first Fiery Runes Series.

    Today we start the locations off with Caldeum just like in FRS2, but this time with better alchemy and better runes and a slightly modified look with the map faded behind the alchemy. I hope it looks nice. The Caldeum artwork I hope doesn’t look too blurry as I did a no-no and cut it out and blew it up instead of what I normally do. But I did use the sharpening tool and I think it came out well.

    Let me know what you think. I’m going to set up the rest of the series and you’ll see ‘em each Wednesday as planned. See you all next time, and look for Monday as another Fiery Runes wallpaper is coming, hopefully with no issues or slow downs from work.

    Good morning! Hey guys this week I present to you all the Triune Summoner as planned. I think he turned out very sharp in my opinion. Just like the Dune Thresher last FRS wall, I worked so hard on him on Thursday that I had to take a break. I came back to him on Sunday and got some opinions from my mom and niece that where in the room. They have been watching me grow as I make these wallpapers.

    After their advice, I went and fine tuned this guy some. I was worried that the stone texture I used was going to be far darker than possible. But after the family said it looked just right and not too busy, because what I use to have until the fine tuning was a lot busier than it needed to be. They thought the lighting was very well placed considering this is not a 3-d generated texture tile.

    Also another thing to be noted if you saw the original version of this concept art there was no completed staff that he used, so I had to improvise and fine tune. I looked over some images on the net to help me design a staff. I just hope the staff fits ok, because I have no idea what Blizzard will use as the final version of a staff for these guys.

    With this image I did some fine tuning to make the lighting and what-not fit more. The glow of the magic blazing in his left hand on the right side, I wanted to make it more than what the concept art originally had. Besides the glow effect that was there before I could not preserve when I did the cut out. I used some lens flare effects to give me that spark that I wanted the art to have and the magic to give off. I wanted it to still match most of the lighting that was provided from the original piece.

    There was also some lighting to the left side, on his right arm as well as his mask. I had thought about the staff I made shine off some magic gleam but like I said if I did too much it would distract want to much. So I painted over the lighting did some filtering and kept the original color of the armor, but eliminated the golden glow around the edge of the mast, parts of the right shoulder, and also later below his arm on the robe itself. I wanted to leave as much of the turquoise glow from the magic intact from the art and where ever the golden glow was I tried to match the lighting with the green glow relative to the light itself. I did my best with the shadowing and made sure they matched up. I dimmed some areas and brightened others.

    This FRS wallpaper is my favorite with the Mistress of Pain I worked on at the start of the series. Why you ask? Simple; the way it turned out and how much I tweaked and added to the image. I just hope you all like it as much as I do.

    10 – Skovos Islands

    Hey guys hows your week been goin? This Wednesday the next iPhone wallpaper that I have put together is from the Skovos Islands; marking the second Locations wallpaper in the iPhone series. Hope it looks good on everyone’s phones. Next week we will have Ureh!

    With that I will give a shout out to one of the sites I post on: diablo3community.com, they are shutting down. Sad to see and I hope the best for them. Raptrex & all those at the d3community best of luck to you!

    Morning all! This week there was a change in plans for the wallpaper this week as blizzard finally gave us some new artwork content and Bestiary updates too. This week I was going to post the Triune Acolyte, but the fallen ones being posted recently made me hold that for another week.

    This wall the concept art for the Fallen Shaman thankfully was like previous artwork. It was very easy to cut out and work with. Problem for me was the fact that he was standing on the top of a broken stone pillar. On this image I cut the pillar down until it faded into the center of the alchemy. Using some shadowing I made the transition for the pillar to look like just a rock in the ground as a success.

    Just like this the Triune summoner, I also fine tuned some of the lighting to accommodate the red glow from the runes. The texture where the alchemy was on the ground I wanted to find a grey-ish looking texture. Already had one from when I was building the summoner’s floor so I modified it and added the red glow from the runes as like the past few bestiary walls.

    I just wished his staff wasn’t so dang tall. I had a hard time positioning him without having the staff cut off some. I gritted my teeth and just let that go and made sure at least he was centered in the circle. With that I hope you all enjoy this wall, and I’ll see you all next week. Maybe the next wall will be the Acolyte or another of the fallen. We shall see what happens. See you all next week!

    Evening all! It’s been a busy week this week for me as I was promoted on diii.net’s Fan Creations Forum, as their forum moderator there. With the delay though a couple days late I have your next iPhone wallpaper.

    Morning everyone, its been quite a busy week for me this past week, being promoted to the Fan Creations Forum Moderator at diii.net, as well as a few other things. This week you get another Fiery Runes wallpaper!

    This time you get the Fallen Overseer. This guy was fun, easy to work with. The tough part was rebuilding his left foot. The concept art had it cut off. Also I modified the texture on the ground. I found an interesting leaf covered ground texture.

    I morphed it to the perspective like I have the other textures. At first it looked out of place but I combined it with a few other textures and got a really neat final product. It looks like sandy dirt with some faint leaves in the sand.

    I also did my faint lighting tweaks to match the runes around and the same with the shadowing below. I hope you all like, please let me know what you think.

    Me too honestly, this data on the fallen will definitely help keep me busy i was almost out of art to work with. I may just surprise people sometime with some of my own fan art. Can't wait to do that in the future. lol

    Default FRSiP 12 - Locations IV - Tristram

    Sorry for another delay friends; here’s the next iPhone wallpaper for ya! This week is Tristram. This one was a little tricky though with the art I liked to use, was a panorama of town with the carrion crows. I had to find the best part and spot to best represent tristram and make it fit.

    I think the final result speaks for itself. I also darkened the shadowing on the edges and darkened the map in the background some. I still think it was to bright. I hope you guys like, and ill see you next week for the next iPhone Wallpaper.
